The application deadline has been extended for a postdoctoral
research associate to join Dr. Kenneth Bowman and Dr. Anita Rapp at
Texas A&M University on their NASA-funded Dynamics and Chemistry
of the Summer Stratosphere (DCOTSS) project. The main goal of
DCOTSS is to investigate the impacts of overshooting thunderstorms
over the U.S. on the summertime stratosphere. The postdoc will be
responsible for performing independent research to analyze DCOTSS
field campaign data and/or perform high resolution model simulations
of overshooting storms. <br>

<p><strong>Job responsibilities include:</strong></p>
<p><strong>-Collaborative Research</strong>: As part of the DCOTSS
team you will help develop shared software, work collaboratively
with and assist other DCOTSS scientists, help mentor DCOTSS
graduate students, contribute to the DCOTSS team research
objectives, and participate in science team meetings and
academic conferences.<br>
<strong>-Data Analysis</strong> : Perform independent research
to analyze and/or model DCOTSS field campaign data, as well as
other related historical datasets.<br>
<strong>-Data Management</strong> : Responsible for assisting
with data management of the DCOTSS project. The candidate will
also develop shared datasets and support other data management
related efforts in the research group, as well as performing
other duties as assigned.</p>
<p>Minimum requirements include an appropriate PhD in Atmospheric
Science, Meteorology, or closely related field, although
research experience in upper troposphere/lower stratospheric
dynamics, convective dynamics, satellite or radar remote
sensing, or in situ atmospheric observations is preferred.
