A postdoctoral scholar position in turbulence is available at Clemson
University. The position is part of an NSF collaborative research project
on the convective atmospheric boundary layer. The research includes both
theoretical and experimental investigations. The focus is the multi-point
Monin-Obukhov Similarity Theory that we developed recently. We are
currently further developing the theory, and are preparing for a field
measurement campaign (M2HATS) in California to obtain data to further
establish the theory. (Research group website:
http://cecas.clemson.edu/~ctong)
Strong knowledge of turbulence is required. Research experience, especially
in field measurements and data analysis in the atmospheric boundary layer,
is preferred. Applicants must have a Doctorate in atmospheric sciences,
mechanical engineering, or a related field. The successful candidate will
play an important role in all aspects of the research and will help advise
graduate and undergraduate students in the research group. The position is
initially for one year with the possibility of renewal and will be open
until filled. If interested, please send a current CV with a list of three
references to Professor Chenning Tong at ctong at clemson.edu.
