Applications are invited for a Research Scientist position in the Department of Earth Sciences<https://earthsciences.dartmouth.edu/> with a joint appointment at the Arthur L. Irving Institute for Energy and Society<https://irving.dartmouth.edu/>. We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative individual to engage in a range of research activities with the overarching goal of directly removing and sequestering atmospheric carbon dioxide on land and/or in the ocean. We are especially interested in those who have studied water-rock-microbe interaction, marine gel production and carbon cycle, or weathering reactions towards increasing ocean alkalinity. The person in this position will work with Professor Mukul Sharma and engage across the Irving Institute for Energy and Society.

The selected candidate is expected to begin as soon as possible.  The initial duration of the position is two years. This is a full-time non-tenure-track appointment. Qualifications

Applicants for this position must have a PhD in Earth Sciences or equivalent with at least one year of postdoctoral experience.
