Tenure-Track Faculty Positions in Air Quality and Robotics



The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions in the areas of Air Quality and Robotics with an anticipated start in Fall 2023. The positions are open at all levels, with special consideration given to applicants at the Assistant Professor rank. In Air Quality we are interested in candidates with experience in linking air quality, including indoor and ambient, and climate to energy systems, agriculture, or wildfires. A focus on solutions and mitigation is desired. In Robotics we are interested primarily in candidates with demonstrated applied research experience in field robotics and will also consider applicants in the areas of control and dynamical systems, autonomous systems and human-robot systems.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

  *   The College's vision of successful candidates includes a significant commitment to scholarship, the potential to develop an externally funded research program, and ability to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels in engineering. Tenure-track faculty in the Paul M. Rady Department of Mechanical Engineering typically hold positions that include 40% teaching, 40% research, and 20% service effort distributions.

What We Can Offer

  *   The anticipated salary range for this position at the Assistant Professor rank is $100,000 - $110,000 academic year salary.
  *   Qualified candidates will be considered for Associate or Full Professor appointments. The full salary range is $100,000 - $180,000 dependent on rank.
  *   A relocation stipend is available within CEAS guidelines.

  *   Candidates must have earned a PhD in Engineering or a closely related science field by the time they are appointed as a tenure-track faculty.
