[ES_JOBS_NET] Funded Masters Assistantship in Post-Wildfire Soil Sealing at the University of Wyoming

The Mountain Hydrology Research group at the University of Wyoming is looking for a M.S. student to start in Fall 2022 or Spring 2023. This is an NSF funded project investigating post-wildfire soil sealing processes. The research assistant (RA) will conduct rainfall simulation experiments in a laboratory setting. This project includes components that welcome applicants from a variety of scientific backgrounds including, but not limited to hydrology, watershed management, and soil sciences. Skills in R, Matlab, or Python, and experience with GIS are highly desirable, but not required.



The RA will be part of the Mountain Hydrology Research group led by Dr. Ryan Webb (www.webbhydrology.weebly.com<http://www.webbhydrology.weebly.com/>) in the Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering and Construction Management at the University of Wyoming. There will be opportunities to also interact with the Interdisciplinary Program in Hydrologic Sciences (http://www.uwyo.edu/wrese/index.html).



Desired Qualifications and Skillsets:

  *   Ability to work independently and within a team

  *   Effective communication (oral and written)

  *   Introductory level of GIS

  *   Introductory level of statistical analysis (preferably using software such as R, matlab, etc.)
