Job Description and Duties
Join a diverse, dynamic team of environmental scientists and assist with the collection of discrete biological and water quality data as part of the Environmental Monitoring Program. Our program conducts ecological monitoring across the San Francisco Bay-Delta estuary, sampling over 25 stations monthly aboard our research vessel, R/V Sentinel. The incumbent will prepare and organize field equipment, assist in sample collection, preservation, and processing, enter data into an online database, perform quality assurance checks, and contribute to the preparation of scientific reports and presentations. Other duties include assisting technical staff with the statistical analysis of ecological data, conducting primary scientific research for special studies, and preparing and presenting findings as directed.

Desirable Qualifications
In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office; ability to work both independently and cooperatively with others; attention to detail; some knowledge of water quality, ecology, biogeochemistry, and statistics; experience working outdoors.
