Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Project Assistant for the Rutgers University Center for Ocean Observing Leadership (RUCOOL). RUCOOL is seeking to hire a Meteorological Research Project Assistant to join the offshore wind research team.

Among the key duties of this position are the following:

*        Assists with maintaining and validating the real-time version of the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model run daily by RUCOOL, known as RUWRF.

*        Maintains the code which runs the model and processes the model output, as well as performs ongoing validation of model output against available industry, government, and academic observational datasets, including comparison of statistics and visualization tools.

*        Assists with performing research-related model runs using WRF and/or other atmosphere/ocean models as needed to meet project goals and team objectives.

*        Assists field technicians with maintenance and operations of observing platforms used by RUCOOL.
