Postdoctoral scientist position at Washington University in St. Louis
The Department of Energy, Environmental & Chemical Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a full-time postdoctoral scientist. The research will focus on understanding aerosol processes and aerosol-cloud interactions by combining simulations using the WRF-Chem model and measurements from recent field campaigns. The successful candidate will join the Atmospheric Science and Engineering group at Washington University and work closely with collaborators at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and Tsinghua University.
The successful candidate is expected to have a Ph.D. in atmospheric science, engineering, physics, chemistry, or related field and strong background in large-eddy or regional/global modeling of atmospheric aerosols and clouds. Familiarity with high-performance computing, demonstrated commitment to publication of results, strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work as part of a research team are required. Demonstrated experience in using the WRF-Chem model is highly desirable.
Review of applications begins immediately. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. The initial appointment will be one year, with the expectation of annual renewal for at least one more year contingent upon satisfactory performance.
