Greetings!

The Geosciences Department at Fort Lewis College is hiring one Visiting Instructor to join our faculty for the coming academic year (Aug 2022 to May 2023; Academic Calendar viewable here<https://www.fortlewis.edu/Portals/2/assets/academics/2022-23-Academic-Calendar.pdf>).

Fort Lewis College is located in an idyllic setting in southwest Colorado where the rugged San Juan Mountains meet the Colorado Plateau. The public, liberal arts college comprises ~3500 mostly undergraduate students, and is situated on a scenic mesa above Durango. The Geosciences Department houses a Geology major and minor, as well as a GIS certificate program. Durango and vicinity offer an excellent quality of life, with loads of public lands, year-round recreation opportunities, an excellent outdoor classroom, and more/better amenities than you would expect for such a relatively small town.

The candidate for this position will be expected to teach a mix of Introductory Geology with lab and Weather and Climate in both fall and spring semesters. The ideal candidate will have potential for excellence in student-centered teaching, an interest in working with a diverse student body, and some familiarity with the geology of the southwest.
