Fort Lewis College is located in an idyllic setting in southwest Colorado where the rugged San Juan Mountains meet the Colorado Plateau.
<span style="background-color:rgb(255, 255, 255);display:inline !important">The public, liberal arts college comprises ~3500 mostly undergraduate students, and is situated on a scenic mesa above Durango. </span>The Geosciences Department houses a Geology major
and minor, as well as a GIS certificate program. <span style="background-color:rgb(255, 255, 255);display:inline !important">
Durango and vicinity offer an excellent quality of life, with loads of public lands, year-round recreation opportunities, an excellent outdoor classroom, and more/better amenities than you would expect for such a relatively small town.<span> </span></span> </div>

The candidate for this position will be expected to teach a mix of Introductory Geology with lab and Weather and Climate in both fall and spring semesters. The ideal candidate will have potential for excellence in student-centered teaching, an interest in working
with a diverse student body, and some familiarity with the geology of the southwest.</div>
