Queen’s University: Recruiting graduate students in environmental fluid dynamics

I am currently recruiting graduate students interested in environmental mixing processes join my research group at Queen’s University (Hydrotechnical Group<https://civil.queensu.ca/Research/Hydrotechnical/index.html>, Department of Civil Engineering). I have two funded positions available for either a PhD or MSc.

This project will address the fundamental near-surface mixing processes in cold environments. We will be using both laboratory experiments and numerical models to study the hydrodynamics of mixing near freezing. Depending on funding and interest, this project may include travel to Churchill, MB for laboratory and field work. Applications are currently being accepted and will remain open until filled with anticipated start dates in Fall 2022.

Role Details:

  * Queen’s University, Kingston, ON, Canada
  * Work in 2000 [cid:image003.png at 01D819DE.8CEFF5C0] Coastal Engineering Laboratory
  *   Starting in Fall 2022
  * Funded MSc or PhD positions

Research Interests:

  * Heat, Salt and Contaminant dispersion including microplastics
  *   Skin-to-bulk temperature parameterization
