Assistant Professor, Earth Materials - The University of Texas at El Paso
 
The Department of Earth, Environmental and Resource Sciences at The University of Texas at El Paso is hiring a faculty member in the broadly-defined area of Earth Materials who is capable of teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, conducting fundamental research, building an active research portfolio, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, and mentoring students at all levels. We are most interested in applicants with expertise in state-of-the-art higher temperature mineralogical and petrological techniques and concepts that complement our existing programs in natural resources and economic geology, geophysics, geothermal energy, structural geology, and geochronology, among others. Candidates with the ability and desire to build a vigorous, externally funded research program are encouraged to apply. We are especially interested in applicants who have a demonstrated commitment to teaching, mentoring and advising students from diverse backgrounds.
