> Land-Ecosystem Modelling Group (https://lemg.imk-ifu.kit.edu/

> Environment Research Department in Garmisch‐Partenkirchen . Questions 
> addressed in the group cover the interactions of environmental changes 
> (especially land-use change and climate change) with ecosystem 
> biogeochemical and water cycles, functional diversity, and ecosystem 
> services. Specifically, we seek to

> ·further develop, evaluate and apply the dynamic global vegetation 
> model LPJ-GUESS for land-based climate change mitigation (such as 
> modelling bioenergy yield, ‘climate smart’ cropland management)
>
> ·contribute to development, simulations and analyses of the coupled 
> socio-economic model LandSyMM
>
> ·lead and contribute to peer-reviewed publications arising from the work
>
> ·contribute to general tasks in the group such as teaching, website 
> maintenance, project reports or proposal writing
>
> *We offer: *a multi‐disciplinary, highly collaborative and friendly 
> team, well connected to national and international research networks 
> and activities. Salary and benefits will be based on the Collective 
> Agreement for the German Public Service Sector (TV-L EG13). 
> Appointment will be initially for a period of 2 years, starting as

> *Required qualifications: *

> ·PhD in a natural or computer science subject (e.g., environmental 
> science, mathematics, ecology, meteorology, information technology)

> ·Proven track‐record in advanced scientific programming or

> ·The appointee must be willing to travel and have very good spoken and 
> written skills in the English language; German is an advantage
