The Toxics Cleanup Program<http://www.ecy.wa.gov/programs/tcp/cleanup.html> (TCP) within the Department of Ecology is looking to fill an Underground Storage Tank Inspector (Environmental Specialist 3)<https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/washington/jobs/3313155/underground-storage-tank-inspector-environmental-specialist-3> position. This position is located in our Headquarters Office in Lacey, WA<http://www.ci.lacey.wa.us/>.<http://www.ci.bellevue.wa.us/>
The primary function of this position is to help owners and operators with maintaining compliance with the underground storage tank regulations. In this position, you will work independently by performing inspections at facilities in their assigned area. You would also collaborate with the Southwest Regional Office (SWRO) UST inspector team on difficult technical issues and on more global issues with the larger Program UST inspector team. You will be in direct contact with the public on a regular basis. It involves educating owners and operators of facilities of the requirements of the regulations. The position requires a familiarity of mechanical concepts, which you would build on in the normal course of performing this job.
