For the first position, we seek a colleague with expertise in emerging
challenges in climate and/or resources (e.g., earth systems modeling,
geoengineering, water resources, carbon management, strategic elements and
minerals, energy transitions, alternative energy resources) to help grow
our Earth Science environmental programs into the future.
For the second position, we are looking for a colleague with a research
emphasis in the dynamics and evolution of solid earth systems. Specific
areas of interest include (but are not limited to) igneous and metamorphic
processes, geochronology, high-temperature geochemistry, and structural
geology. Candidates with expertise that strengthens our department’s
research and teaching in the areas of petrology, mineralogy, and/or
geochemistry are particularly encouraged to apply.
Questions about the positions should be addressed to the search
committee Chair, Dr Bill Johnson: william.johnson at utah.edu
