The Department of Geology & Environmental Sciences at the State University
of New York (SUNY) at Fredonia invites applications for a lecturer in

We are seeking a creative and collaborative colleague who will engage in
excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service within both our majors and
general education programs. The successful candidate will be responsible
for teaching courses in Environmental Sciences, Geology, and GIS, as well
as contributing to our general education course offerings. Master's degree
in Environmental Science or closely related field required, Doctorate
preferred. Preference will be given to those applicants with a focus in
Environmental Science and/or GIS skill sets as well as demonstrated
excellence in teaching in the area of Environmental Science.



*KEY RESPONSIBILITIES*

   - Reporting to the Chair, the successful candidate will:
   - Teach courses in Geology & Environmental Sciences, as well as
   contributing to our general education course offerings;
   - Contribute to curriculum development and refinement;
   - Provide academic advisement to students;
   - Participate in committees and provide service to the department,
   college, university, and profession;
   - Be aware of, understand, and follow all university policies.


*Requirements:*

*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS*

   - M.S. in Environmental Science or closely related field by August 2021;
   - Ability to teach Environmental Methods & Environmental Assessment;
   - Ability to teach Geographic Information Systems, Remote Sensing,
   Cartography and/or other courses associated with a GIS minor;
   - Demonstrated commitment and ability to work with a diverse group of
   students, faculty, staff and constituents in support of campus and
   department mission;
   - Experience with instructional technology;

*PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*


   - Doctorate in Environmental Sciences/GIS
   - Teaching experience in Introductory Geology, Environmental Sciences,
   GIS, Remote Sensing, and/or Cartography
   - Effective oral and written communication skills
   - Demonstrated commitment to the university, division, and profession.
   - Interest in, and commitment to, community engagement.
