The Department of Geology and Environmental Science (
http://www.geology.pitt.edu) at the University of Pittsburgh invites
applications for a full-time one-year visiting assistant professor position
beginning in the fall of 2021. The position is outside of the tenure
stream. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate
courses in GIS, Environmental Science and others that fit their area of
expertise.

We are interested in a colleague with research and teaching expertise that
integrates well with current departmental directions (

to geospatial information science.  The successful candidate will be
required to teach courses in Environmental Science and GIS, GPS & Computer
Methods, among others as determined based on departmental need and
expertise. We are particularly interested in candidates who integrate
spatial data analysis into their scholarly work.

Required Qualifications:

Hold Ph.D. in Environmental Science, Geology, or related field at the time
of appointment.

department.

Demonstrated ability to publish in respected peer-reviewed academic
journals.
