Hi Everyone,

Two funded Ph.D. graduate student positions are available for students to join the University of Wyoming Mountain Hydrology Group in the Department of Civil & Architectural Engineering & Construction Management starting in Fall 2022. The successful applicants will be funded by a Graduate Teaching Assistantship or a Graduate Research Assistantship to study one of the following:


  1.  Feasibility analysis of L-Band InSAR to produce global snow water equivalent products.
  2.  Advance understanding of liquid water storage and transport in seasonal snow, and the impacts on radar signals.

There is the potential for some flexibility in defining the scope of project within the candidates’ own interests and skills. Both projects include components that welcome applicants from a variety of scientific backgrounds including, but not limited to geophysics, hydrology, analysis of large datasets, skills in R, Matlab, or Python, and experience with GIS.  These opportunities will have collaborative opportunities with multiple groups/agencies including the NASA SnowEx Campaign, Bureau of Reclamation, and the USGS.
