The Department of Geography at Texas A&M University is seeking applications
for one full-time tenure-track faculty position with a 9-month academic
appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor with teaching and research
interests in *any area of Physical Geography.*  We particularly welcome
applications from individuals with demonstrated commitment to diversity,
equity, and inclusion, as well as cross-disciplinary knowledge.
Specifically, we seek candidates with disciplinary interests in *geomorphology,
earth surface processes, ecogeomorphology, critical zone science*, and/or
who can leverage existing TAMU Geoscience Centers of Excellence listed
below.  This position has an anticipated start date of August 1, 2022. The
successful applicant will be expected to teach courses in the Department of
Geography at the graduate and undergraduate levels; advise and mentor
graduate and undergraduate research students; develop and maintain an
independent, externally funded research program; participate in
departmental and college activities; and serve the discipline of geography.

strengths in biogeography, climatology, geographic information science and
technology (GIST), geomorphology, human geography, and human-environment
relationships. The Department's capacity is greatly enhanced by close ties
to the College of Geosciences Departments of Geology and Geophysics,
Oceanography, and Atmospheric Sciences, and the interdisciplinary
Environmental Programs and Water Management and Hydrologic Sciences degree
programs. The College of Geosciences also includes the Berg Hughes Center
for Petroleum and Sedimentary Systems, the Texas Center for Climate
Studies, the Center for Geospatial Sciences, Applications, and Technology,
and the Stable Isotope Geosciences Facility. Texas A&M University is a

Qualifications

Applicants must have a Ph.D. at the time of appointment. Postdoctoral
experience is desirable but is not required. Strong written and verbal
communication skills are required.
