Dear all,

The Rice University Earth, Environmental, and Planetary Sciences department
seeks  postdoctoral researchers in paleoclimate, water isotopes, and
climate modeling. Researchers will be hired to work with Dr. Sylvia Dee in
the Climate & Water lab at Rice (https://sylviadeeclimate.org/).  Two
projects are available, including (1) water isotope modeling/observations,
clouds and climate change; and (2) tropical Pacific climate over the last
2000 years.

This position is fully-funded for two years, and requires a strong
background in climate science & modeling, as well as big data methods for
managing paleoclimate archives. Experience in numerical/statistical and
geospatial modeling is required.


   - Education Required: Ph.D. or other Doctoral Degree Concentration
   - Type of Experience:
      - Advanced Programming in Python
      - Basic command of Fortran
      - Experience with climate model output, (preferably NCAR CESM)
      analysis and visualization Background in ENSO and Last Millennium climate
      dynamics
      - Experience working with paleoclimate data assimilation products
      (LMR, PHYDA)
      - Experience with high performance computing
