New postdoc position in earthquakes & tectonics at the Earth
Observatory of Singapore

The Earth Observatory of Singapore seeks a Research Fellow with
expertise in numerical modeling as applied to active tectonics to
participate in research on faults and earthquakes around Southeast
Asia. The candidate will work under the supervision of Assistant
Professor Judith Hubbard and will collaborate with other members of
the Tectonics group to understand tectonic evolution, crustal stress
states, fault formation, and earthquake triggering. Specific research
will include the tectonic evolution of the southern Philippines, and
the 2019 Cotabato earthquake cascade, with the opportunity to work on
other earthquake phenomena in South/Southeast Asia.

Requirements:

Ph.D. in Geology or a related field
Expertise in numerical modeling of active tectonic structures
Experience with some combination of geodynamics, earthquake stress
transfer, finite fault models, and/or structural geology
Enthusiasm, good team work, good communication, the ability to conduct
independent research and write papers, leadership, interest in fault
behavior
