Postdoctoral Associate in Pyroaerobiology: The emission and transport of microbial life through wildland fire smoke.

We seek a Postdoctoral Researcher to advance the nascent field of "pyroaerobiology", the intersection of fire science, atmospheric science, and environmental microbiology. The PDR will work with an interdisciplinary team from multiple institutions to conduct research activities for funded projects with the National Science Foundation, the EPA, and the USDA Forest Service. Candidates must have a Ph.D. with a focus on biomass burning emissions and transport, wildland fire/ wildfire smoke science, bioaerosols, or closely related disciplines. The position duration is two years, and will be located in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, with research activities ranging across the US including sampling to take place in close proximity to wildland fire.
