Job Summary

A postdoctoral position is available starting Summer or Fall 2021 in
the Jain lab (https://mehajain.weebly.com/) at the School for Environment
and Sustainability at the University of Michigan. I am looking for a highly
motivated postdoc who will work on a recently funded NASA Land Use and Land
Cover Change (LCLUC) project (
https://lcluc.umd.edu/projects/policy-market-and-climate-change-impacts-maize-production-mexico)
that is examining the impacts of climate change on maize in Mexico and
whether farmers are able to adapt to this change. The position will require
excellent remote sensing and coding skills, with strong preference for
those who are able to code in Google Earth Engine (Python API a plus)
and/or have prior experience working with sensor fusion algorithms (such as
StarFM).

Required Qualifications*

The position requires that the applicant holds a Ph.D. in a relevant
research field, and is proficient in remote sensing and coding in any of
the following languages - Google Earth Engine, Python, and/or R. Applicants
can come from a wide range of Ph.D. backgrounds, including geography,
sustainability science, agricultural sciences, economics, computer science,
and environmental sciences.
Desired Qualifications*

Preference will be given to applicants with a strong publication record,
programming experience in Google Earth Engine, Python, and/or R, and
previous experience fusing multiple sensors (e.g., Landsat-MODIS fusion
using StarFM).
Additional Information

Competitive salary will be provided based on qualifications.

TERM LIMITED - The position is initially for one year, with potential to
extend to two years based on performance, funding and need.
