*The position*

The Ph. D. candidate will work within the frame of ERC grant “Compound
Climate Extremes in North America and Europe: from Dynamics to
Predictability”. By using indicators issued from dynamical systems theory
and existing global climate model simulations, the candidate will
contribute to identifying compound extremes hotspots and the large-scale
atmospheric dynamics driving the compound occurrences, in both present and
future climates.



*The research group*

I coordinate a lively research group based at the Dept. of Earth Sciences
in Uppsala, which focuses on the dynamics of extreme climate events in the
mid and high latitudes and their interactions with other components of the
Earth System. I currently head three nationally funded research projects,
an ERC project and a large H2020 consortium. More information on our
