We are looking for an Associate Scientist to join our team at the Joint
Center for Satellite Data Assimilation (JCSDA) where we are developing land
surface model data assimilation capabilities within the framework of the
Joint Effort for Data assimilation Integration (JEDI) project. The JEDI
effort is an inter-agency plan aimed at developing a unified community Data
Assimilation (DA) system for research and operations.
The Associate Scientist will contribute to the development of data
assimilation systems for land surface models (LSMs) used in coupled
weather-, climate- and hydrological-models. Initially, the focus of this
position will be on the design, implementation and validation of object
orientated software that will enable scientists at JCSDA partner agencies to
use JEDI with the Noah-MP LSM in the context of the National Water Model and
Unified Forecast System.
