PhD and Postdoc in Atmospheric Chemistry Modeling, Baylor University

We are recruiting two fully funded PhD students and one postdoctoral
researcher in atmospheric chemistry modeling in the Department of
Environmental Science at Baylor University. Successful candidates will use
atmospheric modeling tools across different temporal and spatial scales to
better understand atmospheric chemistry and chemistry-climate
interactions. Specific projects include trace gas-aerosol-cloud
interactions, urban air quality, extreme events (e.g., wildfire and dust)
under a changing climate, and trends in greenhouse gas emissions and air
quality co-benefits. Research involves extensive collaborations within and
beyond the university.

PhD position:
· Applicants should have a BS or MS degree in atmospheric sciences,
chemistry, physics, or a related field, and are interested in atmospheric
modeling.
· A strong background in math, chemistry, physics and/or programming
is preferred. We particularly value applicants with a robust track record
of scientific research.
· Funding is guaranteed for PhD students through fellowship and
research and teaching assistantships.
· Candidates are encouraged to contact Dr. Yang Li
<https://www.baylor.edu/environmentalscience/index.php?id=975626> (
yang_li3 at baylor.edu) before applying, by emailing a resume or curriculum
vitae (CV), contact information for two references, unofficial transcripts,
and a brief statement of research interests. Information on applying to the
Department of Environmental Science at Baylor University can be found at
https://www.baylor.edu/environmentalscience/index.php?id=953694.
· For full consideration, applications to the Department of
Environmental Science for fall 2021 admission should be submitted no later
than January 6, 2021.

Postdoc position:
· Applicants should have obtained a PhD degree in atmospheric
sciences, chemistry, physics, or a closely related field before formally
starting.
· Ideal candidates have solid programming skills and substantial
experience in atmospheric chemical transport modeling.
· Postdoc researchers are initially recruited for one year, with
possibility of annual extension, contingent upon performance and funding.
The formal start date is negotiable.
· To apply, email Dr. Yang Li
<https://www.baylor.edu/environmentalscience/index.php?id=975626> (
yang_li3 at baylor.edu) a CV, contact information for three references, and a
cover letter highlighting the candidate’s research experience, interests,
and goals.
· Priority consideration will be given to applications submitted on or
before March 12, 2020.
