The Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Indiana University seeks graduate students in atmospheric science at the Ph.D. and M.S. levels to start in Fall 2020.  Prospective students would join a vibrant research group that focuses on computational modeling of the Earth system at global and regional scales.  Research areas include hurricanes, atmospheric rivers, climate engineering, monsoons, wind energy, and the planetary energy budget.  The atmospheric sciences group is part of a multidisciplinary department with strengths in natural hazards and natural resources across the Earth sciences.  All admitted graduate students are fully funded, including stipend and tuition remission.  IU students have free access to world-class supercomputing facilities.  Located in picturesque Southern Indiana, Bloomington<https://www.visitbloomington.com/> is the arts and cultural hub of the Midwest, combining diverse metropolitan offerings with the pace and sense of community of a small town.
