Postdoc position for Networking study on the phenological characteristics of different forest ecosystems and its response to climate change based on canopy color index

 

Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden, Chinese Academy of Sciences

 

We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow for a recently funded 2+2 year project. It will combine a range of canopy carbon flux and forest phenology detection systems across tropical rainforest, rubber plantation, subtropical evergreen forest and semiarid savanna etc. from the alpine forest in Gongga Mountain to the tropical rain forest in Malaysia along 101°E. We want to understand the phenological characteristics of different forest ecosystems and its response to climate change based on canopy color index. The correlation between canopy color index and carbon flux will be focused in this research.

We welcome all friends who have the experience in forest ecology, climate change or carbon flux to join our research team. Please send a curriculum vitae, copies of published, prepared manuscripts and a detailed research plan to professor and Dr. Zhang Yiping ( yipingzh at xtbg.ac.cn) if you are passionate for this topic, have great ideas to understand this complex challenging task, are learning phenology and carbon flux, and are willing to join our research team Global change research group.

Xishuangbanna tropical botanical garden, which is our research center and the most famous botanical garden in the world, is located in the Menglun, Mengla county, southwest of China. The international airport is Jinghong airport which about one hour driving from our research center. There are diverse groups of international students /scholars in our research center.

Initially, the candidate should be under the age of 35. And the position will be for two years, with possible extension dependent on your achievement during the postdoc career. Salary is RMB180,000 per year. There is a free dormitory for international scholars, nice housing for family or single.
