The Environmental Fluid Mechanics group (http://sites.bu.edu/efm/) in the
Department of Earth and Environment at Boston University led by Dr. Dan Li
is seeking 1-2 PhD students starting in the fall of 2020. The successful
candidates are expected to work on research problems in the broad area of
micrometeorology and hydrology, with a focus on urban environmental issues.
Dr. Li’s research interests include environmental fluid mechanics,
atmospheric turbulence, urban climate and hydrology, multiscale climate
modeling, and land-atmosphere interactions.
Applicants should satisfy the minimum requirements set by the Graduate
School of Arts and Sciences and applications should be submitted before
December 19 (see http://www.bu.edu/cas/admissions/phd-mfa/apply/ for more
details). Students with strong background in mathematics, physics, civil &
environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, and/or earth sciences
are welcomed. Students with analytical and programming skills are preferred.
