The Landscape Evolution Group in Department of Environmental Sciences at the University of Virginia seeks graduate students with interests in geomorphology and physical sedimentology. M.S. and Ph.D. applications are welcomed from students with related experience in geosciences, as well as those with training in other quantitative fields (e.g., computer science, civil engineering, physics) and a desire to tackle new topics. Student support is available starting Fall 2020 through teaching and research assistantships. Potential research topics include but are not limited to the development of bedrock river valleys, submarine channels, and the sedimentary record of Mars. The department offers many opportunities to connect to allied fields that converge at Earth’s surface, including hydrology, ecology and atmospheric sciences.

Applications submitted by January 15, 2020 will receive full consideration for enrollment in Fall 2020. Interested students should contact Ajay Limaye (ajay at virginia.edu) with a description of research interests and CV.
