SCIENTIST - GEOLOGY

Job Summary:
Join SwRI's Earth Science section to support on-going and new project work
in the areas of groundwater and surface water resource assessments. Daily
activities include collaborating with current staff to collect, compile,
analyze, and interpret geologic and hydrologic data. Participation in
geologic and hydrologic field work is required. Both independent and group
project work is expected, including presentation of project results to
clients and at scientific meetings. Frequent travel may be required.
Education/Experience:
Requires a BS degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Geosciences with 0-2 years of
experience in collecting, compiling, and analyzing geologic and hydrologic
data, including field work. Must have at least a 3.0 GPA. Should have
interest in conducting independent research and presenting results a
scientific meeting. Requires in field work. Must be able to conduct
independent and group project work, and present results to client. Requires
experience with ArcGIS, Excel, Access (or other database software), Adobe
Illustrator and Photoshop. Experience or coursework in karst hydrogeology
and groundwater hydrology is highly desirable. Experience with software such
as FEFLOW, WMS, GMS, MODFLOW, Python, Matlab, or Mathematica is desirable. A
valid/clear driver's license is required.
