About NASA SERVIR:
SERVIR is a NASA and USAID joint project that enables the use of Earth observations and geospatial technologies for improved societal decision-making in SERVIR regions. The SERVIR SCO at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama is collaborating with the University of Alabama in Huntsville to provide SERVIR science and technical reporting support and coordination.
SERVIR is active in Eastern and Southern Africa, West Africa, Hindu Kush Himalaya, Lower Mekong region of Southeast Asia, and is expected to grow to include the Amazonia region of South America. SERVIR hub institutions provide a key interface between the needs of SERVIR regions and the potential use of Earth observations and geospatial technologies and also provide a critical technical support to regional and national governmental institutions.

Job Description:
The Research Associate II will provide science coordination support and interface with an international hub, while working as part of the SERVIR Science Coordination Office.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Earth Science or a related field/18-21 months of full-time verifiable related work experience/must possess a background in earth science and a demonstrated understanding of environmental concerns, and needs in developing regions/must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills/experience in capacity building processes involving regional thematic experts is required/must have knowledge of Geographic Information System (GIS), satellite image processing, remote sensing, programming, and statistics software/must have the ability to provide technical assistance to regional science coordination leads/Master's degree in Earth Science or a related field is preferred
The approximate annual salary for this position is $49,594.
