Dear Colleagues,

The Artificial Intelligence Modeling Framework for Advancing Heliophysics Research (AIMFAHR) group in the Heliophysics Division at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to develop an AI model of solar wind - ionosphere - thermosphere interactions, incorporating space and ground-based observations such as AMPERE, DMSP, CHAMP, GRACE, GOCE, and SuperMAG.

This is a 2-year position, with an expected start date before Sep 1, 2025 and it has the potential for renewal based on the performance and funding availability. The selected applicant will be affiliated with one of the PHASER universities and will work on-site at NASA Goddard.

We are seeking candidates with extensive experience in artificial intelligence (e.g., machine learning, uncertainty quantification, explainable AI, and continuous learning) and a strong background in heliophysics and/or computer science. Interested applicants should submit the following materials via email to Dr. Hyunju Connor (hyunju.k.connor at nasa.gov<mailto:hyunju.k.connor at nasa.gov>).

1. A cover letter describing your background, qualifications, and experience relevant to the position
2. A full curriculum vitae (CV), detailing your education, awards, publications, and research experience.
3. Contact information for three professional references

Review of applications will begin on Feb 1, 2025. For questions or additional information, contact Dr. Hyunju Connor at hyunju.k.connor at nasa.gov<mailto:hyunju.k.connor at nasa.gov>.
