Dear colleagues

This is the second announcement for the 2025 M-MATISSE community workshop, which will be held on 19-23 May 2025 at University College London, Bloomsbury Campus in central London, United Kingdom. Everyone with interest in the Medium class (M7) mission candidate is welcome to participate. The registration for this workshop is now open.

The workshop aims to bring the scientific community together to discuss the M-MATISSE M7 mission candidate progress in order to help with the consolidation of the M-MATISSE science report (i.e., the Yellow Book) that it is due in early 2026. This is a chance to help shape the science of the mission.

There will be specific sessions with plenty of time for discussions focussing on:

  * Science goals of the mission
  * Connections from the Sun to the surface of Mars
  * Heliophysics at 1.38-1.66 AU and its influence on Mars
  * Synergies with Earth plasma and space-weather science
  *   Planetology comparisons (including exoplanets)
  * Lessons learnt from past/present planetary exploration
  * Outreach on how to communicate plasma science effectively
Participants are invited to submit abstracts addressing one or more of these topics. Possibility for hybrid connection is currently being investigated, but we really encourage the community to come in person for more fruitful discussions!

Important deadlines:

  *   Abstract deadline: 24 January 2025.
  * Registration deadline: 31 March 2025 - There are no registration fees for the participation in this meeting.
  *   Meeting: 19-23 May 2025, London, UK
  * Early Career Support deadline: 24 January 2025. We are very happy to announce that we are able to support a few early careers to attend the meeting by courtesy of the Royal Astronomical Society. The support should be used to help covering part of the expenses for this trip, but we note that matching funds will be necessary. The LOC will evaluate each case. The application for this support will open soon, please check our website for updates.
