Dear Colleagues,

We invite you to participate in our CEDAR Workshop session on New Modeling
Capabilities. This is a live zoom session scheduled for Friday (6/26) from
1-3pm MDT (3-5pm EDT). The following is the session agenda:

* Astrid Maute: What ionospheric electrodynamics modeling capabilities are
needed?

* Matt Zettergren: Geospace Environment Model for Ion-Neutral Interactions
(GEMINI)

* Joe Huba: Global modeling of equatorial spread F with SAMI3/WACCM-X

* Kevin Pham: GAMERA and coupling with Ionosphere/Thermosphere Models

* Meghan Burleigh: Impacts of ionospheric feedback: 2-way
ionosphere-magnetosphere coupling

* Saurav Aryal: Data-model comparison of the July 2nd, 2019 total solar
eclipse’s global-scale thermospheric effects

* Nick Pedatella: Assimilation of Ionosphere Observations in the Whole
Atmosphere Community Climate Model with thermosphere-ionosphere eXtension
(WACCM-X)

* Open Discussions

In addition, a pre-recorded talk by Andrew Gettelman (NCAR) introducing SIMA
(System for Integrated Modeling of the Atmosphere), an effort to develop a
unified atmospheric modeling framework for the broad scientific community,
is made available on the session webpage to facilitate discussions of
future model capabilities.
