Dear Colleagues,
Please consider submitting an abstract to the session "Plasma convection in the coupled inner magnetosphere-subauroral ionosphere region" (SM025) at the upcoming Fall 2020 Meeting. Deadline for abstract submission July 29th.

Plasma dynamics in the inner magnetosphere is strongly determined by the coupling to the auroral and subauroral ionosphere and is affected by different driving phenomena such as penetration electric fields, dynamo neutral winds, and polarization electric fields. Observations from the ground-based and spaced-based sensors suggest that the plasmapause plays a crucial role in the transport and conversion of mass, energy and momentum in the subauroral geospace. The focus of this session is on studies that analyze inner magnetosphere‐ionosphere convection and plasma dynamics under different geomagnetic conditions. In particular, studies utilizing ground-based and satellite observations (e.g., data from DMSP, Cluster, THEMIS, MMS, AMPERE, SuperDARN, GNSS TEC and Van Allen Probe satellites), theory and simulations of (1) physics of convection in the subauroral ionosphere and inner magnetosphere, (2) influence of ionospheric conductivity and the neutral winds in modulating convection are welcome, as well as any other additional relevant studies.
We look forward to your participation in this session.
