Hello CEDAR community,
Geospace research is rapidly progressing, and one key to this scientific
progress is a clear, flexible, and open community approach to scientific
data management and stewardship. For scientific databases, this approach
is codified in the FAIR principles as laid out in the NIH document "The
FAIR Guiding Principles for scientific data management and stewardship" (
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4792175/).
The CEDAR Madrigal database architecture and implementation is widely
used by the geospace research community for diverse data sets, and is
provided as a part of NSF's Millstone Hill Geospace Facility. Madrigal
meets and exceeds FAIR guiding principles in all aspects. For easy
community reference in future studies and proposals, we have constructed a
document that describes the FAIR relevant and specific Madrigal
implementation features and design principles. It is linked on the home
page of the CEDAR Madrigal and Millstone Madrigal sites, such as
https://cedar.openmadrigal.org
The document can be directly accessed here:

Questions on FAIR implementation principles and specifics for CEDAR
Madrigal can be addressed to Bill Rideout (brideout at mit.edu) or Phil
Erickson (pje at mit.edu).
