Dear Colleagues,
The websites for the *UN/US Workshop on the International Space Weather
Initiative: The Decade after the IHY 2007* are open. This workshop will
be held at Boston College on July 31 through August 4, 2017. Please view
the websites for more information.
Please note that *US participants* should register, apply for financial
assistance and submit abstracts via the Boston College website at:
http://iswi2017.bc.edu.
*Non-US participants* should register, apply for financial assistance and
submit abstracts via the United Nations website at:

*All participants (US and non-US) not applying for financial assistance*
are welcome to make reservations for lodging via the Boston College website.
*Sessions and topics* planned for this workshop include:
· Economic and Societal Impacts of Extreme Space Weather: A high
level international forum with keynotes speakers from major international
organization and panel sessions to discuss issues and policies for
acknowledging space weather as a global challenge.
· Technical Sessions on:
o Space Weather Instrumentation (ground and space based)
o Magnetosphere, Ionosphere and Atmosphere
o Coupling
o Sun-to-Earth Space Weather Modelling
o Capacity Building, Outreach and Education
· UNISPACE+50: International framework for space weather services
*Important dates:*
Abstract Submission Deadline: March 31st
· Applications for travel support deadline: March 31st
· Registration Deadline: May 15th
o US participants will register on the BC website (see address above)
o Non-US Participants will register on the UNOOSA website (see address
above)
· Housing deadlines (see lodging link in BC website for more
information and registration links:
o BC Residence Halls: May 1, 2017 (or sooner if room block is filled)
o Hotel Boston and Courtyard by Marriott: June 29, 2017 (or sooner if
room block is filled)
