Visiting Research Scientist Electrical and Computer Engineering University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign seeks applicants for the position of Visiting Research Scientist in the area of remote sensing and space sciences. The Department has one of the leading programs in the United States granting approximately 350 B.S. degrees, 100 M.S. degrees, and 60 Ph.D. degrees annually. ECE Illinois has long had an international reputation for excellence in teaching, research and service. ECE Illinois is rich with top instructional laboratories allowing students to learn, invent and dream.

The primary function of this position is to conduct research focused on understanding the dynamics of the Earth’s near-space environment, focusing on the use of data and the development of inverse methods to study structures in the ionosphere and their effects on technological systems. The visiting position may become regular at a future date pending availability of funding.

The Visiting Research Scientist position is a full-time, benefits-eligible academic professional position. The candidate must be a U.S. citizen.
