Dear Nafiseh,

The grid cell size is based on what phenomena or process in atmosphere you want
to simulate.

For example if you want to simulate of cyclone or anticyclone with horizontal
scale around 1000-1500 km and lifetime 1-5 days, grid size can be 100 - 200 km,
but if you are interesting in thunderstorm simulation with horizontal size of 1-5
km and lifetime upto 12 hours then grid size should be less than 1km .

this link well help you more :

  Hi All,
I am struggling with calculating WRF grid cell size.
How can I know the grid cell size of my run? Do I need to calculate
it? Or it is based on the data resolution?

  Any advise would be appreciated.

  Thanks,
  Nafiseh
