[ncl-talk] a suggestion to expand the ocean color tables

Hi Sam,
I agree, those colormaps would be a great addition. I have created a
JIRA-ticket for this: NCL-2747. To read these into NCL we need the RGB
values, and I didn't find them on the site you sent. (Perhaps one can get
them by sending the site's creator an email.)
I did though find them on the Ocean Data Viewer github repository here:
https://github.com/kthyng/cmocean-odv/tree/master/pal
Clicking on the ice.pal file for instance, gives you what I think the ice
colormap is, sandwiched between some standard colors at the beginning and
end of the colormap.
I've attached a script, the rgb values and a figure providing an example on
how to use these values in NCL.
