[ncl-talk] grib2 to mongodb

Hello,

Does anyone have any experience converting grib2 files into a database for
a web application, such as MongoDB?

The objective is to be able to pull data from the dataset on the fly in a
web application. For example, a request is made for precipitation as a
specific location, so based on lat/lon the precipitation data is grabbed
and presented to the user.

This isn't necessarily an NCL specific question, however, I"m sure it could
be done with NCL and a little shell scripting. It does seem, however, that
it would be easier to use a database that could be called directly from
your web application. So, I'm curious how others have gone about this
problem.

Thanks,
