We have an open position for a SIMS operator/scientist on our team at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory. We are seeking a qualified scientist to enhance our growing capability in secondary ion mass spectrometry and characterization of nuclear materials. The candidate should have magnetic sector SIMS experience, around the level of a post-master's degree. While we are expecting to teach the specific SIMS applications for this position, the incumbent should understand the basics of making measurements, including sample preparation, instrument operation and data collection, data reduction and analysis, and interpretation. Analysis of production samples on a Cameca ims 7f-GEO and/or ims 1280-HR will be an important part of the position, but there are opportunities for participation on other projects, and we encourage scientific growth. We are a growing team with diverse applications, and we are looking for creative scientists to help us meet our challenges.
