Description

*Applications will be reviewed on a rolling-basis.

A summer research opportunity is available with the Emerging Threats Team,
in the Prevention Research and Translation Branch, Division of Congenital
and Developmental Disorders (DCDD), within the National Center on Birth
Defects and Developmental Disabilities (NCBDDD) at the Centers for Disease
Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, Georgia. 

The selected participant will have the opportunity to gain experience in
conducting research and surveillance activities, as well as collecting,
reviewing, and analyzing epidemiologic and programmatic data. Under the
guidance of a mentor, the participant will train on projects that focus on
the role of prenatal exposures on pregnancy and infant outcomes. Prenatal
exposures of interest include, but are not limited to: Zika virus and other
infectious diseases, environmental, nutritional, and behavioral factors, and
chronic medical conditions. There are three main learning objectives of the
appointment:
