[ES_JOBS_NET] Postdoc opening: GHG emissions observed from space

Kort, Eric eakort at umich.edu
Thu Mar 29 11:32:36 MDT 2018

Postdoctoral fellow in atmospheric science

A postdoctoral research fellow position is available with Prof. Eric Kort’s research group at the University of Michigan (http://clasp-research.engin.umich.edu/faculty/kort/) with an anticipated start date in Fall 2018 though earlier or later start dates are possible. There are opportunities to be involved with a number of active projects seeking to use atmospheric observations to better quantify, attribute, and understand sources and sinks of greenhouse gases. This position will focus primarily on using space-based observation of carbon dioxide (from OCO-2) as well as other space-based observations to better understand major greenhouse gas sources.

Candidates should have a PhD in a relevant science or engineering field. Experience with remote sensing of greenhouse gases, transport modeling (such as STILT, Flexpart, WRF, GEOS-Chem), or experience with inverse modeling is preferred though not required. Please email a CV, a cover letter describing research experience and goals, and contact information for three references to eakort at umich.edu<mailto:eakort at umich.edu> , subject line: ATTN: Postdoctoral Search.

The University of Michigan is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
