The following is a job opportunity in Indianapolis. Indianapolis is a very

The Department of Earth Sciences at Indiana University-Purdue University
Indianapolis (IUPUI) invites applications for a full‐time, non‐tenure‐track
lecturer in Earth sciences. The Department of Earth Sciences offers
undergraduate degrees in geology and environmental science, an M.S. in
geology, and an interdisciplinary Ph.D. degree in Applied Earth Sciences (
http://earthsciences.iupui.edu/). We seek a lecturer who has a strong
commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring students. An M.S. degree
in geology, Earth or environmental sciences is required, a Ph.D. is
preferred. Candidates must demonstrate a record of quality teaching in
geology and/or environmental sciences. Candidates with experience teaching
courses such as physical, environmental, or historical geology, and
hydrological sciences, as well as the ability to teach upper-division
environmental science courses are especially welcome to apply. Candidates
will be expected to engage in scholarship of teaching and learning as well
as actively serve on both departmental and university committees. Interest
and ability to mentor and coordinate graduate teaching assistants is
essential. Experience with developing curriculum, short courses, or with
online teaching is desirable. Applicants should submit a letter of
application, curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy,
summaries of recent peer and student teaching evaluations (if available),
and the names and email addresses of three referees. Any other materials
that document teaching experience and effectiveness are recommended.
