Description: Two postdoctoral associate positions are now available in th=
e Department of=20
Bioproducts and Biosystems Engineering at the University of Minnesota. To=
pics for research=20
projects concern the sustainability of food and bioenergy systems. Respon=
sibilities include=20
conducting collaborative research, written and oral communication of resu=
lts, and preparation of=20
grant reporting materials. Positions are funded by grants from the United=
 States Department of=20
Energy (DOE), the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Uni=
versity of Minnesota=92s=20
Initiative for Renewable Energy and the Environment (IREE), Institute on =
the Environment (IonE),=20
and the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences (CFAN=
S). Review of=20
applications will begin immediately.

Required Qualifications: Applicants must have a Ph.D. in industrial ecolo=
gy, agricultural or=20
environmental sciences, economics, engineering, or a related field. Stron=
g oral and written=20
communication skills are essential, as are the ability and desire to work=
 in an interdisciplinary team=20
setting and to travel. Proficiency in statistical analysis is also requir=
ed. Competency in life cycle=20
modeling, MATLAB, ArcGIS, Adobe Illustrator, and computer programming are=
 desired.

Salary and Benefits: Compensation will be commensurate with experience an=
d qualifications.=20
Appointments are for one year with renewals possible for a second and thi=
rd year, depending on=20
performance and availability of funding.
