Description: Two postdoctoral associate positions are now available in th=<br>
e Department of=20<br>
Bioproducts and Biosystems Engineering at the University of Minnesota. To=<br>
pics for research=20<br>
projects concern the sustainability of food and bioenergy systems. Respon=<br>
sibilities include=20<br>
conducting collaborative research, written and oral communication of resu=<br>
lts, and preparation of=20<br>
grant reporting materials. Positions are funded by grants from the United=<br>
States Department of=20<br>
Energy (DOE), the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), the Uni=<br>
versity of Minnesota=92s=20<br>
Initiative for Renewable Energy and the Environment (IREE), Institute on =<br>
the Environment (IonE),=20<br>
and the College of Food, Agricultural and Natural Resource Sciences (CFAN=<br>
S). Review of=20<br>
applications will begin immediately.<br>

Required Qualifications: Applicants must have a Ph.D. in industrial ecolo=<br>
gy, agricultural or=20<br>
environmental sciences, economics, engineering, or a related field. Stron=<br>
g oral and written=20<br>
communication skills are essential, as are the ability and desire to work=<br>
in an interdisciplinary team=20<br>
setting and to travel. Proficiency in statistical analysis is also requir=<br>
ed. Competency in life cycle=20<br>
modeling, MATLAB, ArcGIS, Adobe Illustrator, and computer programming are=<br>
desired.<br>

Salary and Benefits: Compensation will be commensurate with experience an=<br>
d qualifications.=20<br>
Appointments are for one year with renewals possible for a second and thi=<br>
rd year, depending on=20<br>
performance and availability of funding.<br>
