A postdoctoral research associate position is available within the
Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering and the interdisciplinary
Center for Climate and Aerosol Research at Portland State University. The
research will focus on the development and application of chemical
transport models for air quality-human health investigations at local to
regional scales.

Applicants must have received a Ph.D. in engineering, chemistry, physics,
atmospheric sciences or a closely related field within 5 years of the
proposed start date. Experience running regional chemical transport models
(e.g., CMAQ) or health impacts models (e.g., BENMAP) is required.
Additional required skills include excellent written and verbal
communication, and the ability to work independently as well as
collaboratively.

Preferred qualifications include research experience in applied air quality
modeling at local to regional scales and/or model development.

PSU is home to the Center for Climate and Aerosol Research (CCAR). It is
the mission of CCAR to serve as an internationally recognized,
multidisciplinary center for research and teaching in the physical and
natural sciences as they are applied to understanding global and regional
climate and air quality. The PSU campus is located in downtown Portland,
Oregon and is the fastest growing and most diverse institution in the
Oregon University System. Portland is widely rated as one of the most
livable cities in the country, with both ocean beaches and mountain ranges
