[Cosmic_announce] Comparison between editions 3 and 4 of the BUFR files

Since the ASCII dumps are too big for the list, I send the content of the message
without attachments. If anyone wants the ASCII dumps mentioned, please
contact me and I will provide them off the distribution list.

I dumped to ASCII the files you sent:
bfrPrf_CNFS.2012.325.00.11.G12_0001.0007_bufr
bfrPrf_C001.2012.325.00.01.G05_0001.0007_bufr

with a generic tool named debufr, from NCEP's BUFR library
http://www.nco.ncep.noaa.gov/sib/decoders/BUFRLIB/

I also dumped the files which I assume are the v3 equivalents (from cdaac's ftp site)

cnofsrt/level2/bfrPrf/2012.325/bfrPrf_CNFS.2012.325.00.11.G12_0001.0006_bufr
cosmicrt/level2/bfrPrf/2012.325/bfrPrf_C001.2012.325.00.01.G05_0001.0006_bufr

I assume that the correct streams are the rt ones (I have not found others to compare to).

I then apply diff (technically xxdiff).
If you want to compare yourself, I attach the ASCII dumps (labeled .out)

Did you create these v4 BUFRs from a different upstream source?
